Occasionally receive a msg from yx, is all about the S.T.D workshop stuff. WTH isit??? I really dunno why myself will accept this invitation cuz it lasts for half a day! Mayb is due to my curiosity??

Oh shit, it rains and the venue is at UCC. 

Walking the pathway alone with the dance of the raindrops, and think WTH reason drives me here? Commitment? Responsibility? Neither.

Step on the theater, a guy who i think he is almost getting bald (:p), standing on the stage, preparing his slides.

OMG.. not handsome at all and he is quite short! Is he the speaker? Yes, he is. T.T

The whole workshop is occupied by few people only and they are all paired up. sob sob. Before the workshop starts, i try to find out some interesting contents from the handout given by cfa. Amazed by the theater designed plot which i think dats what an architect does! Such a meticulous work!

Okay. The speaker starts to give out his speech. Wow, incredibly i was mesmerized by his speaking manner.  A well American-slang and humorous person. He says, design is a process, not an artwork. (oh, really?) As it is a process, it takes some steps to accomplish your work. First, you must have a commitment with it, then do analysis. After it, start your research including bg and concept research. Then incubation, selection and implementation onward. Again i heard this word "accomplish", not complete or finish. I accomplish my work is great great different from i finish my work. Agree?

Of cuz there is a practical section for us. He allows us to try out the devices such as fresnel, gabo things...Great, i think i would never ever touch these kinds of devices in my life. However, excitement hindered, the person in charged squeaks: " no slippers allowed on stage!". Oh gosh! I stand aside reluctantly, gazing others for their attempts. Fortunately, we are grouped to perform a scene with the light system. Of cuz, previously we have learnt the light system and its effect as well. Now, is time to work on it. Funny thing here is those who are "slippers-less"  unpurposely grouped together and there are four of us. Lol.

Our scene is " Trapped in a lift", and the very 1st idea pops out my mind is rectangular shaped and dim light. Get high-5 with other members and discuss more detailed features. The speaker advises us to act as well as acting complement with lighting design will be more visualizable yet attractive enough. After discussing with the light system production crew, he help us to cue our scene. We all immersed in the scene after finish the cue and the result for me is juz shiok!!

S.L.D is so cool!!! Now i know the reason.

Sometimes, we juz restrict ourselves from learning, knowing or understanding. Due to our fear, unfamiliar situation, misconception, highly subjective mind..., excuses and misunderstanding are already borne in our mind from perceiving the truth. Like what i said before 

知道≠了解. 

I juz experienced today.
